To Whom Are You Giving Your 'Gun'?

Christian had experienced one of his most challenging years despite the fact that he had just completed his studies at the University of Moriah and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in Historical Truth.

Christian sadly concluded that with his newfound knowledge and his unique University experiences, he would no longer fit in with his old hometown friends Larry, Mark, Beau, and Keith. Back home, Larry was still managing his dad's diner like he had since he was fifteen. Mark graduated from local Junior College with an Associates in Applied Sciences and went to work for the bank. Beau went to work for the local Cooper Tire Plant in town. Keith was a part-time carpenter and a full-time dreamer. Although he was always cash poor, it didn't curtail his enthusiasm for pursuing his next big deal; he was always working on his next million-dollar deal.

Christian knew that with his Ivy League education, he'd never be seen again as one of the boys. Going home would not make him fit in. Come to think of it, Christian was not sure if his own family would accept him back with all of his new and different ideas.

This year the mid-term elections are being held. There is a sense of impending danger. This election is more important than any of its predecessors. Christian decided to run for office.

At first, people laughed at him - after all, who was this young kid who thought he could make a difference? But Christian's message was clear, and it resonated with people. He talked about restoring civility to our discourse and reclaiming our differences as strengths rather than weaknesses. He talked about creating opportunities for everyone, regardless of their station in life. And people began to listen to him rally the crowd around choosing to be a #4. Christian just kept saying, "Don't be a #1, #2, or #3, God wants you to be a #4, He designed you to be a #4.

Slowly but surely, Christian began to gain traction in the race. His opponents attacked him viciously - they called him naive and idealistic - but Christian never wavered from his principles. The closer we got to election day, the more popular Christian became; people were tired of the status quo, and they were ready for change.

On election night, Christian won by a landslide margin! He was overwhelmed by the support of the people and humbled by their faith in him. He knew that there was still a lot of work ahead, but he was excited to get started on making America the land of the free again! To do that, he had promised Pastor Hutchins he'd make God first and he would live his life as a #4, he refused to be a #1, #2, or #3.

Until Christian ran for office, no one from the church had ever gotten involved in advancing the Kingdom of Christ and its purposes in the community. When the Church rises up and accepts, embraces, and applies Bibilcal Principles to how our government works, things will never get better. The decision is in our hands. We decide who is going to represent us in Washington as well as in our local communities.

Do you know Christian? Yes, you do! As only Pastor Hutchins can, he skillfully helps you discover who your "Christian" is and what he must do to win a nation for Christ!
